MINKOVE…..DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!!!!
JTA reports that it appears that there will be no kosher stand at Camden Yards for the upcoming 2009 Orioles season. Jonathan Katz, the owner of Kosher Sports, which runs the kosher stand, claims that the deal between his company and Aramark, the O’s concessionaire, was so “poorly structured” that he couldn’t afford to continue operating. Aramark, on...
The "Funding" Department
So, after my call with water and sewage dept., I called the funding dept.
quite frustrating..no paitence to type it out..basically there is a “housing dept” that determines the “funding” but the “maintence dept” does the work” unclear who decides the work should be done. And in the end, it turns out the “funding dept.” I was talking to...
Baltimore City
So my sewage has backed up into the house 3 times in the past week. Thankfully, it has not been that bad and has yet to do any damage, but I am not sure how long that will last.
So Monday last week I (skipped the plumber step and I) had the city come out to snake again. They tried to snake the line with a large cutter, but it couldn’t get through, so they opened it up with the small...
Drink anybody....
As you can see from the previous post, I have purchased a cask of one of my favorite whiskies using the excuse of Batya’s birth. This cask was filled on March 5th 2009, Batya’s birthday and laid to rest in the warehouse for the next 10+ years. The hogshead cask holds 257 bulk liters, of which 184.6 are alcohol (at 20 degrees C) That makes it 71%ABV or 142 proof. Most likely, when the...

Made-to-order magazine lets readers choose →
I am trying to decide if I like this idea or not.
On one hand, made to order news/entertainment is a lot better than paying for what you don’t want. Also it is free which is a big bonus.
On the other hand, it is basically an advertisment and now instead of a piece of junk mail, it is a magazine which is considerably more wasteful.
But…its free…and customized…and I will...

Umami Bistro
Baltimore newest Kosher restaurant is pretty good. Erin and I went to the Chinese/Japanese/Thai/American Bistro for lunch (actually treated to lunch by Grad school friend Kevin with wife Jeane and daughter Katherine). The place was a little fancy, clean, good service, good food, and affordable. We recommend it to anyone in the market for a new kosher eatery in B-more.
