Drink anybody….

As you can see from the previous post, I have purchased a cask of one of my favorite whiskies using the excuse of Batya’s birth. This cask was filled on March 5th 2009, Batya’s birthday and laid to rest in the warehouse for the next 10+ years. The hogshead cask holds 257 bulk liters, of which 184.6 are alcohol (at 20 degrees C) That makes it 71%ABV or 142 proof. Most likely, when the time comes, I will bottle it in the 85 proof range which would yield about 420 1 liter bottles.

So, if I get the bottles in 12 years for Batya’s Bat Mitzvah and I take a L’Chaim with a friend every day (so total of 3 oz/day) the bottles will not run dry until Chanukah the year Batya turns 25!
