Guess Who Called

I am still in shock, although let me preface this by saying that nothing has actually happened yet.

Last night I check the voicemail and find a message from someone with Baltimore City. He leaves a number and asks me to call back if there is still water in the basement. Wow - he called me! The little things that can make me happy. Anyway, I called back this morning and it was a direct number to some division of water managment that I had been thus far unable to get in touch with. The lady is very nice and explains that a camera crew actually came out yesterday (how many weeks after requested) and tried to video the line. After 17 feet, the camera was submerged and they couldn’t see anything. This is great news because the vertical cleanout is only 8-10ft deep, so 17 feet is about 7 feet past the cleanout and clearly on city line. But she then mentions that she doesn’t know what is going to be done because no further maitenance request was put in. So I go back and forth with her for a while and she volunteers that she can directly petition the superindentant to atleast review my case and suggest a sourse of action (which may be that I pay, but at least its progress). So she sends everything to him and says he will call back. Its only been 5 hrs, I still have high hopes!
